Visit to Ipoh Pomelo Farm in Tambun

When I was young, 'Di' (my dad) used to take me& my siblings for adventures here and there in his car..exploring shortcuts & places in housing areas, estates, & places with best food. He loved fishing.Perhaps that's why he enjoyed exploring.

Unfortunately I married my hubby who is not that adventurous type but prefers to stay at home & read newspaper or just simply laze around at home. Perhaps that's because he is tired of travelling outstation almost everyday.

Therefore, whenever there is opportunity to explore places of interest & best still when it is near home, I would take my family there.

Today we went to a Pomelo farm not too far frm our home. It is situated in Tambun & it is behind the Pomelo Stall named Gerai Limau Tambun Chin. Thanks to a facebook friend G, who was kind enough to find out the details to that location.

Though there's not much to see besides pomelo, bonsai, farm chicken & farm dogs, it was an eye opener to my 4 kids. What amused me was when they were so thrilled to see the chickens & many dogs there. They asked me "Mummy why the chickens are so huge?"

Here are pictures taken when we were self exploring the farm (coz the owner just left for lunch break!) So the Indon maid incharge allowed us to explore on our own:

The pomelos are bigger than my girls' faces.

If you are there, dont forget to taste the sweet juicy pomelos! Reasonable priced, too. Maybe you could try your luck to buy some farm chicken eggs, too!

Will be going again next week but with a group of Stroke survivors , their carers & volunteers frm a stroke centre. Today's trip is actually for me to survey the place to see if it's suitable for the strokees. There were good toilet facilities & the easy pathway for them to walk with walking aid and the place is wheechair friendly...so pass!

Holiday in Malacca- 2D1N @Hotel Puri

Thks to my sis for recommending Hotel Puri for us to stay 1 night in Malacca on our way back from Singapore for our recent school holiday vacation.

Hotel Puri looks like a motel frm outside but the inside is beautiful. Here are the pics of the hotel interior & also some places of attraction in Malacca near the Jonker street (close to where we stay):

The Hotel has a private carpark for its residence:

Here we were walking towards our car at the car park.

We had a one-stop taste of all famous Nyonya food at Nancy's kitchen (which is just down the road & a junction away frm our hotel).

As we walk further down to Jonker street (the place for antiques & great bargains), we did or rather I did quite a bit of shopping.

Got myself a pair of tailor made Nyoya shoe.

After great food, sightseing in Malacca beca & satisfying shopping we left for home on 10June 09. Yet another long journey on the road. Poor daddy didnt have much time to rest.

Thks dear for this wonderful self driven school holiday vacation.

Surprising Singapore..our school holiday Vacation!

We were in Spore for school holidays frm 6June to 9th June. After that we stayed a night in Malacca(will blog about it next).

Here are the slide pictures that will speak a zillion words to represent the fun & joy my kids had, spending the short but sweet 4days 3 nights with their cousin brother & sister in Potong Pasir and visiting the Spore Zoo, the Science Centre, Snow City & the Merlion Park.

We had great discounts paying in Malaysian Ringgit for the Science Centre & Snow City attraction package when we flashed our Malaysian passports. It was disappointing to have forgotten to bring along our passports for the first day Zoo visit & we had to pay 2.43X more in Sing dollars for the entrance tickets.! !!

Nevertheless, my kids' joy & laughter are PRICELESS!!

We left Spore & embarked in Malacca on 9th June & spent Juliana'a bday on 10thJune 09 in Malacca, too.

On 11th June hubby & I spent sometime on our own after parking the 4 kids at the nursery. We pampered ourselves with Thai Massage at AROKAYA, Ipoh Parade. Then we had lunch at Moven Peak...conveyor belt steamboat.

Also ordered claypot crab fried mee hoon. The taste....cannot beat the Crab fried mee hoon at Kuala Gula (1 hour drive from Taiping town.
