CNY Part1:
1st Day of CNY to 3rd Day:
We were all at Pangkor Island for a great family reunion & escapade.
My aunt frm UK came bck for a 2week break to join us in these auspicious occasion. Initially 37 family members were suppose to be present but 2 backed out due to their dog gave birth to puppies. LOL!!
So left with 35 persons. We stayed in Seaview Hotel. Booked 7-8 rooms all together.
All meals included. We also went for Island tour in 2 boats & had fun snorkling, too.
This time I didn't miss the chance of taking part in all the adventurous activities since my youngest is already 5 years old. My twins had good fun with their favourite uncle (my cousin) riding on the Banana Boat & also went Kayak-ing with their dad & uncle while I stayed at the hotel swimming pool & the beach to swim with my girls.
During the vacation, my UK aunt dislocated her shoulder at the beach. She was sent by ambulance boat to the Manjung Hospital to get it fixed. Luckily, we had a kind soul ( a good old friend) to help us out during the predicament and my aunt could enjoy the rest of her holidays in Pangkor.
Though the weather was super HHHHHOTTTT, we all had a really great time catching up. The kids had the most fun, I'm sure. When kids are happy, parents naturally would enjoy their vacation, too. Dont u think so? So how was your Chinese New Year?

Xmas Spontaneous Day Trip to Cameron Highlands
It's Christmas morning!
After breakfast (Kg Simee's famous egg tarts & mini sausage buns), we decided to head on to Cameron Highland for a day trip at adhoc basis. Knowing it would be terribly jam packed, yet we decided to escape from Ipoh's hot hot weather.
Once we arrived at our 1st stop, we haad simple lunch at Ngow Kee Restaurant. These are what we had:
1) Fried Tai Look Min

2) Stir Fried Fern leaves with Salted Egg

3) Yong Liew

4) Rojak

Then a bit of sightseing at Rose Valley.
My kids really enjoyed themselves. The entrance fees were only RM4 for adults & RM2 for kids age 3-11.

Since the traffic jam was sooo bumper to bumper jam as we go towards Brinchang, we decided to make a U turn & headed for home.
By 5pm we arrived Ipoh..making this the 1st time we went to Cameron Highland trip frm Simpang Pulai way without reaching Brinchang!!!
Happy Holidays , Merry Xmas 09 & happy 2010!

Historical Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah
Today, after a variety of Maggi mee lunch, we headed on to Batu Gajah. This time not for golf or aerobics @Clearwater but to the Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah.
Here are some of the many many pictures took. Certains photos looked rather eeeriie especially under the gloomy & cloudy weather..looks like those in vampire movies.LOL!
There will not be write up about this historical place as I believe you can internet search engine for this famous tourist spot in Perak, Malaysia.
So enjoy the pics:

Jalan -jalan cari Makan @ Cameron Highlands (Day trip)
As tomorrow is a Public Holiday for our state (Nuzul Quaran), hubby spontaneously decided to drive us all up to Cameron Highlands for a day trip to Jalan-jalan Cari Makan (Going around to look for food).
We took off after I prepared these breakfast (Seafod Tom Yam Fried rice & Tuna Sandwiches) & snack for my family.
So what did we do in Cameron Highlands? These pictures will tell you some of the places we visited :
1) Our first stop at Green View Garden, where we bought many boxes of Oyster mushroom Crisps (original, wasabi, curry & blackpepper flavours):

2) Eating durians (my enemy fruit) by the roadside:

3) Kids shopping for their Ben10 & Barbie sweaters at the Sunday Pasar Pagi(Morning Market):

4) hotel hopping @ Equatorial, Heritage, Marina Chalet, GreenView hotel, Century Pine Hotel, etc

5) We also tasted the raw jagung (sweet corn), oyster mushroom/ water crest Tempura and the Teh tarik in Cameron Highlands. Not to mention shopping for the sweet & big oranges, Giant Bubble racket for the kids, & other nick nacks.
The kids were pretty excited throughout the trip. though they were whining us all the way & bugged us to stay a night in Camerons. After some negotiation, they somehow gave in to us . We reached home about 6.30pm.
We had simple Maggi Goreng with Fried Fish & steam Vege for dinner.

Today is Merdeka Day (Malaysia's Independence Day)..Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!
Daddy took all of us to Clearwater to spend about 5 hours there. Auntie Pat(mommy's old schoolmate), her hubby & her twins met up with us there, too).
As there were no one in the swimming pool, mommy allowed us to have some fun splashing time all by ourselves (no crowd , no fear of H1N1).
Look at how much fun we had "pooling" around at the swimming pool:

After that we spent some time in the Game room playing computer games & indoor playpen while mommy facebook & daddy read his newspaper. We also had some snack, sandwiches & fruits brought from home & also shared by Auntie Pat.
Then we left for our next visit to... The World's LArgest Buddha Relics & Tibetan Antiques Cultural Exhibition. It was held at the Kampar Road Perak Girl school hall, Ipoh. Very interesting, eye opening & knowledgable for us as parents & for the kids, too. At least this is the first time we saw Buddha's blood, flesh & bone relics :

Good weather..succesful picnic today. Yes!!!
I invited my old classmate Jas & her family to join mine. I made Nasi Tak Lemak with sambal cuttlefish & tamarind sardine with fired egg, fried aome burgers, sausages & POPCorn chicken, while Jas' maid fied mee hoon & made sandwiches.we also had snack like Chickadees & Mamee monster.
The kids had fun flying the kites, played badminton, blowed bubbles & running all over.
Simple & economical outing, great fellowship & family bonding...better than going to enclosed/ indoor places during this H1N1 pandemic, rite?

School holiday adventure today- Gua Tempurung & Kuan Yin temple
This morning's weather was cloudy but not wet in the morning.
Mommy & daddy decided to take us out for more adventurous outing today. Joining us in our small MPV were AhMa(mom's mommy) and our cousins Yi wern & Hong Hong.

But first we went to market to buy some stuff for prayers for Hungry ghost 9this month is Ghost festival month). Grandma & mommy bought all the things needed to offer prayers to the deceased ancestors and for Ah Kong (both mommy & daddy's dad) tomorrow.
Then after a very light breakfast, we began our journey to Gua Tempurung (a cave about 30 minutes drive from where we stay). On our way, we stopped at Restaurant Embassy for early lunch.

These are some of the dishes we ordered to go with rice:
1) Ginger chicken
2) Cuttlefish & Kangkung with satay sauce
3) Choon Kuen (Lobak- spring roll)
4) Steam 3 types of egg(century, chicken & salted egg)
5) In house fried stuffed taufu
When we arrived, it was Friday prayers' time and we had to wait for about 1 and a half hours for the group tour. While waiting we explored the nearby vicinity. Here are some of the slide pictures:
After playing for a while at the playground near the cave, daddy decided not to wait & move on to another cave as it was about to drizzle. We then headed for the Kuan Yin cave nearer to the city.
After that we drive along other cave temples along the way before going to our next stop- Drive thru at Mc Donalds for sundae cones!
